I think I was in fourth grade when I felt that I really found a book that reflected my experience, it was called The Shimmershine Queens, I don’t think it’s very well known but I kept it for a long time, it’s by Camille Yarbrough. Where and when did you first see yourself in literature? Hadeal: We talk a lot about windows and mirrors for marginalized readers and readers of color.
